Part of what makes IN4IT stand out from the rest of the crowd is the wonderful people here.

Alessandro Marino is one of the many wonderful team members who have given their best to the job and have ensured the delivery of high-quality work and a diligent work ethic. People like him are truly an asset to the company. He holds the position of Cloud Solutions Architect and DevOps Consultant at IN4IT and is a thorough, skilled, and adept professional. Let’s get to know him a little bit better. Get a better picture of the man behind the mask, the wizard behind the sorcery, as they say.

Question: Tell us about your daily work routine

I usually get up early at seven AM. I like to have a relaxed breakfast. By eight-thirty, I’m fully operative. The morning is the most productive moment of the day with fewer external distractions.

As for breakfast, I like to have a calm lunch and don’t rush to eat food, so I cook and eat something during my lunch break. In the afternoon, I get more external input (slack, emails, and so on), so it can be less productive compared to the morning.

Question: Tell us about your workspace

I like to have a warm and functional workspace. I work with an external monitor which I find extremely useful. During the warmer seasons, I like to spend some hours outside and work from there, surrounded by pets and with a constant fresh breeze coming from the sea.

Question: Tell us about working in your region. Tell us about what you can do in your free time. Any hobbies? Would you like to share some interesting but unknown facts?

I live in the Italian countryside so I’m surrounded by a lot of nature and life tends to be relaxed. I have a lot of hobbies and side projects so it’s hard to keep up with all of them during my free time. I like to cook and I also brew my own beer with a full-fledge homebrew system.

Question: What do you do at IN4IT?

I work as a DevOps/Cloud Architect so my job is to define and build solutions that can help clients to concentrate on their core business. Usually, this means creating infrastructure that can reliably serve the user’s needs and building automation around that to simplify the life of developers.

Question: What do you like at IN4IT?

I like asynchronous work combined with responsibilities. This creates an environment for me where I can work at my best. Also, working with multiple clients always creates new challenges that allow me to improve my knowledge.

Question: What is your favorite tool/programming language/cloud product that you like to work with?

I like to work with Containers, Go, and Terraform. Those technologies are wide and flexible so that they can be used in a variety of situations. I also like to choose the right tool for each job, so I spend a lot of time confronting the various options and trying to figure out what works better for a specific case.

Question: What would you like to learn or do next?

I’m always following new topics and new technologies but having to choose, I want to get some real-world experience with Big Data and IoT technologies.

Question: What tool/programming language/cloud product would you like to see improved/expanded/created in the future?

I would love to see the whole serverless environment and the infrastructure as Code tools improved further.

We hope you enjoyed this interview. Stay tuned for more!w
